VIDEO TRANSCRIPT: VIDEO TRANSCRIPT: On December 17th, ICANN will holdthe new gtld applicant prioritization draw in Los Angeles, CA. Every applicant is entitled to participate in the draw and may do so on their own or may enlist a representative proxy to participate for them. For representation by proxy, applicants must identify a representative on their own or using one of the proxies provided by ICANN at no charge and then must complete ICANN’s representative proxy form for submission to ICANN.

Preceding the actual draw, applicants or their proxies must purchase a draw ticket for 100 dollars between December 12 and December 16th, which they will use to participate in the draw itself. On draw day, every application will be given an individual priority number at random which will determine the order in which the evaluation results will be released and ultimately will impact both the go-live date of your new gTLDs and those of your competitors.

For now, ICANN will release the first set of 100 evaluation results on March 27 of 2013 with subsequent batches of around 100 application results released per week thereafter. Again, the release date is based on the applicants randomly drawn number. That said, ICANN has stated that it will give priority to all IDN applications and there is indication that priority may be given to geographic applications as well. We will keep you.
